Pete Edochie was born on March 7, 1947, in Enugu State, Nigeria. He attended his primary school education in Kaduna State, on the northern side of Nigeria. After completing his education, Pete Edochie started working with the Nigerian Railway Corporation. He later stopped working there and went to England to further his education at the School of Journalism and Television England.
He came back to Nigeria in 1967 and started working as a program assistant with the Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation. He later got promoted to program director at the national broadcaster. After working for a while, Pete Edochie left the Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation to join the Nollywood industry.
In 1980, he was featured in the movie “Things Fall Apart,” which was his first role in the movie industry. He acted as Okonkwo in the movie, and he acted perfectly. The movie Things Fall Apart earned him popularity, as many producers and directors wanted him to act in their movies. As time went on, he started getting many roles in the Nollywood industry.
